Cứu Trợ 2.5 Triệu Người gặp nạn bởi Bão Haiyan ở Philippines
As you know, this catastrophe has rocked the country’s infrastructure and left millions in need of food assistance. Your contribution is making an incredible difference in the lives of those affected.
Because WFP pre-positions relief materials around the world in what are called “Humanitarian Response Depots,” WFP has already flown in 44 metric tons of High Energy Biscuits – a precious commodity in the early phases of relief efforts because they require no cooking. WFP is working quickly to get this food into the hands of hungry families and communities.
To that end, WFP is working with the government and other humanitarian partners to solve logistical challenges facing the country. Equipment to boost logistics capacity has arrived in Cebu from WFP’s stores in Malaysia. More deliveries are scheduled this week and WFP experts are now on the ground in Cebu and Tacloban, working to establish connectivity to aid workers.
100% of all funds received in response to active WFP emergency operations will be deployed toward the specific emergency and not reserved for future emergencies or work in other parts of the world. WFP USA is committed to honoring donor intent and maintaining transparency with the donors who entrust us with their support.
Activities like these are not possible without the support of people like you. With your help, WFP plans to implement general food distribution, emergency food-for-assets, and emergency cash-for-assets activities for 2.5 million people. Thank you for the incredible impact you are making for millions in the storm’s wake.
